About Gene Atlas
Gene Atlas turns a raw DNA file you already have — from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, and others — into a personalized, plain-language health plan. We are a wellness and education product built on open, peer-reviewed science.
Who writes and reviews this content
Articles are produced by the Gene Atlas Science & Longevity Team — the scientists, clinicians, and editors who build and vet our reports. Every health claim we publish is cited, and health content is reviewed before it goes live. Our standards are described in our editorial policy.
Individual author and medical-reviewer names and bios are being added; until then, articles carry the team byline.
How we read your DNA
Gene Atlas reports are polygenic risk scores (PRS) computed across roughly 3,000 genetic markers. Scores are expressed relative to the general population — they are never absolute probabilities, and they never determine or guarantee an outcome. Your genetics describe a tendency; they do not decide your health.
Our evidence base
We build on established, public research — the GWAS Catalog, Open Targets, and PubMed — and weight the evidence by study sample size, genome-wide significance (p<5×10⁻⁸), and independent replication. This is open, peer-reviewed science — not a proprietary black box. Each trait carries a transparency rating so you can see how strong the evidence behind it is.
